Wickerbasket padded back to the den after her hunt with Planetstorm and Spiderpaw. She saw her apprentice sitting in the den and went over. "Shall we do some training?"
{ooc: is she gonna be a totally new apprentice or be a few moons into training and know some stuff?}

Geminipaw glanced up, the tom blinked his left eye, the right eye was totally gone, as well as the right of his face. He smiled warmly and dipped his narrow head to her. "Yes ma'am, he mewed.

The medicine cat padded farther into the den, flicking her tail for him to follow. "today I'll explain the basic first aid things, like swelling, cuts, fevers, and bruises. Ok so these seed as you probably know are poppy seeds. They should never be confused with foxglove seeds which are poisonous. And those over there are the very commanly used cobwebs. We use them to wrap woulda and keep herbs in place. They can be collected almost anywhere." Wickerbasket explained carefully. She pushed the poppy seeds back in place and looked her apprentice in the eye. "Understand?"

The mauled tom closed his mouth and listened eagerly, one ear perked forward, the other was a mangled stump, but that was okay. Geminipaw nodded and then pursed his lips "Yes. I-I understand, ma'am. he mewed.

"Good. Alright now. I was play fighting and got a scratch on my shoulder. What would you do? I'll give you a clue, you will use a type of leaf and a flower or garlic." She explained. "Now, I want you to tell me what herbs you think the flower and leaf are and how we could use them." Wickerbasket settled in her spot and laid down, curling her tail around her hip. Absentmindedly she pawed at a rock while waiting for her apprentice to answer.

"Well... you could use dock leaves. Dock is usually for soothing scratches, right? We used it on Spiderpaw when she cut her paw." he explained and then thought for a moment "Maybe goldenrod? They also heal wounds." he murmured.

The medicine cat nodded her approval of the almost correct answer. "That's good. You were close. First we rub the scratch with a dock leaf. Than we want to take marigold and chew it into a poutice to add to the wound. You can also use goldenrod juice if you do not have marigold or garlic. But that is if you do not have marigold or garlic. Now choose one of the following: swelling, bruises, or fever? I'll explain that one and than we will learn some herbs that are important to teach apprentices." Wickerbasket explained.

"Well, can we learn about fevers first?" he asked softly, his paws figeting.

"Alright." The mc racked her brain for a moment than came up with the remedy. "In this case the cat has fallen ill or suffering from infection or heat stroke or lack of liquids. They will feel hot and their head will hurt. Symptoms for Fever are Sweating, hot, and dizzy. The best Treatment is Drink plenty of water, and give them nettle leaves & poppy seeds or borage leaves & willow bark." She paused letting the appentice put it to memory. "Do you think it will be in a poutice, tea, or eatten plain?"
